WW2 CZECHOSLOVAKIA
"Women of many walks of life laid their lives on the line for freedom – whatever happened to them and to the thousands of their sisters whose names history no longer recalls?" - Věra Láska
Věra joined the resistance aged 15, and got to work smuggling people over the borders such as Poland to Slovakia, to Hungary and onto Yugoslavia. An exceedingly dangerous job which took her story to Auschwitz, where she used her theory that not many people die on their birthday, to take up an unknown task.
That task ended up being moved to a more central camp assembling V-2 bombs, which she of course sabotaged.
Vera passed away peacefully aged 82 on Decemer 11th, which was not her birthday.
The pack consists of one single piece miniature, cast in high quality pewter. 28mm scale, supplied unpainted.
Sculpted by Alan Marsh. Shown painted by John Morris.
